I always thought this pic gave a good idea/impression on how the truck looked and “felt” - that thang would sling some dirt mud & grass at will!

@83K31003 i know grass pics shouldn’t count but I felt like those pics, while really good, don’t completely convey how big that land yacht was.
I have an OBS Crew Cab longbed, and we used to drive it in Houston daily...I know how big/loooong one of those trucks is!

It was long, but with 4(!) 38” tires in the rear it was absolutely massive!
yup, crewys are the original land battleships. but the guy at the end of my street has the biggest, well longest square i have ever seen. makes my 21 ft crew on 38's look positively small
it was orig built as a motorhome but a tree came down on it and destroyed the camper. ten tires on this puppy, there's a replacement bill....oh yeah, did i mention long? this thing is 26 ft long, 32 when it had the camper on it. box alone is 14 feet

Not too much that'll make a Crew Cab longbed look smaller, but I parked next to a Sprinter van and it did.... But yeah 22+' of truck, usually you're the big dog except for semis and dump trucks and buses.

I forgot to share photos/video from my son's first elk hunt back in October, just south of the Grand Canyon. We scouted the first day, before Opening Day, then went out with our friends in their LandCruiser, found a shed antler within the first hour, tracked a small herd all day, then my son got his cow a half hour before sunset. We went to work next to a small campfire while it lightly rained, ending at 9pm with all the meat in the longbed.
What a great memory in the old Squarebody!

Can't offroad until I finish this exhaust system replacement. The fire danger here is off the charts right now. A little gravel road pic until I get can actually go out.
Just got the Idaho plates in the mail today and put them on. Those Washington plates were last registered in 2008. She's a true barn find. Nephew of the deceased got it in an estate and I picked it up.
It took some gymnastics to get the title, but it's all squared away now.

I was teaching my son how to drive the manual transmission in The '87 today and misjudged the wetness of the ground. I actually had to get out and lock in the hubs.

The sad part was that this morning we did a nice spray down and wipe down, it was looking really good before we got it muddy. Of course, I thought it looked even better after it got muddy.
