Not sure yet.
The pinion looks to be too deep. Compare your first image to the bottom right of this screen shot:

This might not be of any help to you:

One time I backed into a driveway, and when I tried to back out, the rear end locked up.

Could not go forward or backwards. Rear diff was ******.

Stranded? Nope, I dropped her into 4 low - trans in first, and then it was peddle to the metal.

Ain't no ****** up diff is gonna hold me back! Truck went down the road just fine. Just had to turn up the radio a little.

Little bits of metal on the road were like bread crumbs behind my rig.

When I rolled the axle out from under my truck, the diff sounded like a coffee can full of nuts and bolts rattling around.

True story.

I agree, touch deep.

Add .004 shim to what you have right now and repattern. (Add in this scenario as the 14b ff uses a cartridge type pinion, if it were a say, 12 bolt, it would be remove shim)

What is your backlash? New gears correct?

How about this? Added a .010 shim as that was the smallest i could do.

This is the pattern I just ran with .006 backlash and that is with putting a load on the ring gear for a good contact pattern.

Just for context, I have a 1990 Chevy blazer with the stock V8 TBI350 700R4 trans and an NP 231 transfer case running 35 inch Tires. won’t be doing nothing crazy.

Looks great to me. That's pretty much exactly what mine looked like when I rebuilt the rearend a few years ago. Factory 8600GVW K25 with 350/TH400/NP205, 4.10's, and 35's. I've towed and hunted in it for years since the rebuild and had zero issues. I added a grizzly locker at the same time as the rebuild.
