Welcome from central Alberta. I grew up driving a square body on the farm but haven't owned one before either. Way better parts, accessories and forum support than when I was building a 55 Dodge 1/2 ton.

Hello there everyone. Just testing the waters here. I'm new to squarebodys and forums but not new to trucks. I have been drooling over squarebody Chevys since I was a teenager but never could quite get my hands on a Squarebody either for financial or practicality reasons. Finally, many years later, the stars have aligned and I snagged myself an '86 K20. At least according to the VIN. It has K10 axels so it is definitely a frankentruck but it's got a solid frame, the box and cab are in pretty good shape and a 386 stroker dropped into it. She needs some loving before she hits the road but I'm excited to get her there.
Welcome to the club! You will find that these are seriously good trucks, PROVIDING that they have been rust-proofed. The fact that they rust easily is their only weak point. Take care of that and you have a truck that will last you a life time.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I don't have many pics but here is what I took of it when I picked it up. I like shiny things, lol, so I'm going to swap the black bumpers and grille for chrome sometime but got some mechanical stuff to sort out first.

I will definitely be rust-proofing. I'm a woolwax guy. I buy fluid-film nas by the 5 gal bucket. I hit all my vehicles with it once a year.
