Hydroboost not working

1982 K30 std cab long bed 1-ton srw pick-up 6.2 diesel 400/205 4wd. I have turned the steering wheel back and forth with the engine off and with it running and stepping on the brake pedal in between to bleed this system but it doesnt seem to work for long. It doesnt seem to have any leaks as I dont have to add any fluid. Any ideas?

Did you recently change the HB unit or the PS pump?

No. I bought this truck a couple years ago and have used it very little. When I started trying to use it a month ago, it started doing this. I feel like I've bled it out till I'm blue in the face with no results, something must be wrong - but I dont want to just start throwing parts at it and waste money.

When you say it doesn’t seem to work for too long, what are you experiencing? Is the pump moaning, is the assist weak, etc?
