yeah of bearings

But you think they have a catalog of carrier bearings sorted that same way? Something tells me the external dimensions somehow take priority in that kind of thing
Should, since it is a bearing and I.D. is important on carrier bearings.

I guess I just never have gone looking for a carrier bearing myself, because I have gone to napa and gotten a bearing based on dimension, they whipped out the old paper book lol. some things paper is just better for anyway. And we got it. Replaced a idler pulleys bearing. But carrier bearing, there is going to be many differences in how they mount, how large overall , how much rubber there is, how wide, how deep they are.. right? Or are they a universally similar design?

All the the swing bearings I’ve ever changed have been on big trucks and just went straight through without these covers/slingers. This particular truck means a lot to me and I’m not going to just put something on because it should work. My grandfather wouldn’t do it and I’m not going to do it to his truck. Granted there are somethings that he wouldn’t do to that truck that I am going to do to it. Like updating a few things. Got to take some implement tires to be changed out by a Napa so I’m going to go in and see what they can do. Not like we are doing anything today with Noah’s flood going on.

Did a lot of looking around last night because I couldn’t sleep for the thunder shaking the house. I believe that is the right number but an E instead of an A. Found several on eBay that the HB881107E has 3 covers/slingers but I can’t find the ID of the slingers.

Napa wasn’t much of a help, but went back to Orileys after a friend said to talk to a guy that only works there in the morning time. We got a HB881107E coming and will be in Tuesday. Computer shows it being for a 66 c30. What info that was available on it looks like it will be the right one. Wondering if the drive shaft or that part of the shaft got swapped at one time. If I ever get to speak to my cousin he may know.

Yup we had some heavy weather coming through Houston last night/early this morning. What part of LA are you in?

I hope that thing isn't the tear drop shape that came on those 60s series trucks. If it is you'll be back to square one.

It looks identical to the HB881107a which was exact size but not the right covers Napa had it, but couldn’t find anything on the E version. Attaching a picture of the one ordered. Assuming you’re talking about the one that has the round housing with the bracket part looking like a T sitting on top of it.

So you get a lot of the weather that comes over from the DFW area and central Texas. These last couple of fronts have stretched out all across the state.... shaking the trailer a bit (and not in the good way LoL).

That is definitely not the tear drop style. I didn't know they went away from the tear drop in '66, but maybe it was just the heavy duty trucks in '66. Either way, glad you found it, and hope it works as expected.

the weird thing about that part number is so little comes up for it,... BUT things do come up for it!
