I’ll be doing some rear axle and suspension work due to what appears as a noisy bearing and worn out bushings and I’m looking for support to double check if I’m ordering the correct parts.
I have a 1990 Suburban V1500, 350 TBI, 10 bolt axles, 700R4.
My goals:
• Fixing a noisy diff (most likely a bearing)
• Improving front end handling (lots of flex on spring bushings)
• Adding highway friendly LSD (I had a car with Torsen and liked how helical LSD performs)
• Increasing rear brake bias (rear is so weak despite RWAL - I guess due to more weight in the rear than in an empty pickup)
Installing a rear Truetrak & new bearings:
• Diff: 913A481 ebay or Jegs or whatever will have best shipping option to Poland
• Bearings LM102949 and races LM102911 (2 each)
• Wheel bearings: ACDELCO RP6408 Rockauto
• Axle Seals: On the bearings (am I right that no extra part is needed?
• Pinion bearings, shims, seal, crush sleeve Rockauto (diff bearings would be unused)
Anything else is needed?
Installing larger rear pistons to make the rear brake work a bit more:
• Pistons from a 14 bolt <-- will they fit? I am aware of a different brake line thread. I'm calculating approx 28% piston area increase between stock 15/16 to these 17/16 pistons
Front suspension bushings:
• Front and rear of the spring (I guess they are the same)
• Bushing between shakle and body mount - Can't find it. Is it integral to the shakle?
• Stabilizer axle bushing
• Stabilizer frame bushing (32mm)
