Has anyone attempted this? The steering wheel is way smaller, and there would be a lot of wiring involved ( not really a concern to me) but I think an 03+ tilt column and steering wheel would be **** McGee. I just don't know how the gear selector lever would move.

From what I remember, the newer column is much fatter and squared off. Wouldn't fit the dash opening or bezel at all. Plus I think the newer one is much shorter.

Why not just swap in an '84-newer column with the multi-function lever and then a smaller aftermarket wheel? It would be much simpler and the end result would function the same.

I ended up with an 03-07 Silverado steering wheel with a new center welded in and the airbag removed
