Gear selector 1988 square

CAN SOMEONE SHOW ME A PIC OF WHERE THE LIL TAB ON A STRING GOES I HV BEEN LOOKIN ON STEERING COLUMN , but cannot find where it goes . any help is appreciated THANKS IN ADVANCE

I don't have a pic, but it just goes on the sleeve of the steering column. You clip it on there wherever it makes the needle line up with the indicator in all gears. When you move the shifter, that sleeve rotates, which pulls on the string and moves the needle.

Look for a little scratch mark on the paint of the column.

ok i fixed it a couple of mins ago i didnt realize that it actually sticks to the plastic sleeve . i cldnt sleep it was on my mind all day
