Near the acceleator pump solenoid. I can see the airhorn is warped a bit right there. Can i just double up the gaskets? I do have a spare airhorn, but no idea if it is the same shape or better (needs a thorough cleaning)

I'd go for the spare... just make sure all the passages look the same.

You might try coating both sides of the gasket with a THIN layer of EZTurn. Basically, it's the equivalent of a plumber's teflon paste, except it doesn't dissolve in fuel.

You can get it at skygeek.com.

You will need another gasket. You could try two gaskets. "Maybe" they will swell enough to fill the warped areas.

No! This will change where the secondary pick up tubes are located inside the main body.

Your carburetor will never run well with a warped air horn. You are better off finding a better carb or having a pro fix yours.

Actually it runs very well now. The spare carb i have is exactly like the one on my truck. Just not at home so i can't see if its warped as well.

Anyone know the torque spec for the bolts?

Snug...the gaskets themselves will swell after use.

maybe that is why it didn't leak before.....but it had major vacuum leaks elsewhere.

Hey do I guess if you needed two (you can double them) it would work. Seams as tho their gaskets are thicker and one will work

none of the auto part stores sell them individually. i measured mine tonight, .033 so ya, one of theirs would be like doubling it.

i know it would change the secondary metering rods, but it would essentially have the same effect as going from a leaner hanger to a richer one, and from what i was reading tonight, most of the factory ones were set to the lean side...

I did just check, i went from a "d" hanger to a "k" hanger because my d was all bent up and the k was on my parts carb. So that is .030" right there i would like back and the thicker gasket will get me there

A warped air horn will/can cause choke and butterfly plates to stick/bind. Maybe the reason your choke wont work ?
