Hi to all,

Newly registered here & just purchased a '85 c-10 silverado last week.
Body looks to be near 99% rust free. The interior's pretty good also.
100K original miles & purchased from the 88 year old original owner. He garaged it 10 - 12 years ago he couldn't remember. He change oil & filters got a new battery. And put it up for sale. Will be restoring through the Fall & Winter. Starting out with some new door & window gaskets from LMC.
Plan to run the 305 til it dies (may not take long) At that point drop in a 350.
And rebuild the TH350 adding a shift kit.:headbang:

From one newb to another

Hey there, just signed up today, thought Id make a post. Wow, sounds like a nice truck, a buddy in high school had one of those so ive always been partial to those ever since, I guess jus missin the old days lol. I picked up a texas rust free 87 R20 7.4 burb recently, but didnt look it over to good as i got for a what I thought was a fair price, a grand. Well it needs alot of att as windows, locks, wipers, elec, issues as it seems are pretty common on these trucks, so maybe I should call it a project. Anywho jus thought Id say hey, post up some pics too brings, back some memories.

:welcome: You may be surprised. If well maintained that 305 may last a good while unless you thrash it

I don't know, has a nice oil cloud when I start it. Gonna try some Restore when I change the oil.

Well this 305 may be around awhile now, so since I was changing the oil.
Thought I'd do the rear main seal & oil pan gasket.

(oil pump too, thanks Marty)

Great find. I worked for an auto dealer back when these trucks were new. They were a hot item then and still are now. I would say that's a pretty good indication of how popular they were (are).

HA !!!! I fixed Your pickup right there. Why put a mouse where a RAT can preside ????
HUH, I apologize, just got a bit carried away.
Nice looking pickumup, welcome to the forum and while You have that pan off, replace the oil pump. might pull the timing cover and add a new timing chain/sprocket kit too along with the front cranking shaft seal. It is always easier to get the timing cover off/on with the oil pan removed.
