AFAIK, just cut a hole in the floor and bolt on a Hurst shifter. Then remove the shifter from the column and all related linkage. Replace with a regular column if you're picky.

have done a couple over the years, will take the better half of a day, cutting the hole in the floor just make sure you get it where it has to be, the worst part is figuring out the shifter rods, takes time for trial and error to get them adjusted right, if you are having trouble with your column shifter you can buy them rebuilt, put one on for a customer last year and it works better than a new one

Thanks towman, I am thinking about building a rat rod outta this beauty. I just like a floor shifter better than column. it's old, large and has been rolled but runs great with the 4.1 (250) straight 6
