Finally talked my wife into something to mess with.

Bought a 1973 C10 shortbed. It is rusty and looks like crap, but cranks first touch of the key. It is supposedly a mildly built 350. Paid more than I wanted to, but my wife didn't get the concept of a walkway on negotiating. She messed up and said she wanted it and would do $1200. I wanted it around $900, but I'm just amazed she agreed to even look at one.

I'm pretty sure it is not worth fixing up. I planned on not doing anything to the body, and just driving it. Again, she had other plans and wants it to look good. I'd be into it way too much to be worth it after that.

Biggest problems right now are; no lights whatsoever, no power brakes( hoping it isn't the booster....I know it is going to be though), rust, no guages(other than gas and oil pressure), and a nice wobble around 40mph.

Welcome to GMSB. Better give the wife a little extra lickin'. If you don't you'll be playing hell trying to get permission for parts.

She has been searching for parts.

Is it even worth fixing the body up? It has no dents really, just rusted through in a few spots.

My task today is getting lights hooked up. That will cost me less than brakes.

Supposedly has new brakes on it though. I'm hoping they just didn't use vacuum hose to hook up to booster.

Thats a good looking truck for that price I think...Around here in the rust belt of NY you'd never find anything that rust free... Sounds like ya got a good women too!

I've never seen a chrome nose on the hood, kind of cool.

I was sold on the tag up front.

The last time I bought anything was tires on my f150.

While up there we seen a Toyota dealer and stopped to look at stuff. No intent on buying. Drove away in a brand new Rav4. I deserve something manly after that. We don't even have kids.

Frame is rusty too. Need to sandblast it. How much does that cost?

Sounds like the perfect Red Neck machine lol

If the frame is solid and the cab is not rusted out aside from the usual cab corners, its a solid start for any project. Sounds like the engine works well.

It needs the paint off of it, but I doubt it is worth fixing up nice. My biggest problem is electrical right now. I am just going to rewire it. I can't drive it for lack of anything electrical. It starts, runs, and drives.

Does this sound ok?
