Factory air cleaner/cold air setup?

Any idea how hard it would be to make this work on a 350TBI or is it not worth the trouble?

You can use an air cleaner spacer ring.

They are available in many different heights. 1/4", 1/2", 1", 2" etc. 5 1/8" diameter.

Use manifold vacuum. The stove pipe side will use the temperature switch, for engine warm up. The other side will open when manifold vacuum drops, engine needs more air when you punch the throttle.

The stove pipe side on this is drivers side and it’s passenger side on my truck. I’d have to figure out how to accomplish that. I wonder if instead of the spacer I could use the ol’ TBI salad bowl mod on the aircleaner and put that on top of the throttle body while leaving the spacer already on there? The Jegs “salad bowl” is 2.5”. Just a thought. I guess I could just pop the spot welds on the snorkels themselves and swap them over to end up with stove pipe on passenger side. I’ll have to take a look. Maybe I won’t get rid of it after all, maybe keep the base if I can make it work with my truck.

The vacuum operation of the Thermac system requires several components to work correctly.. I'm fighting it right now on a factory air cleaner for my engine. The small heat sensitive vacuum switch mounted inside the filter element kept the engine air intake at a specific temp range during operation, not just at start up. It cycled depending on the outside air temp the snorkel was receiving.
I got a replacement from Camaro Central but can't get it to function no matter what the temp..

GM used several different thermac switches. Need the correct one for your truck.
