Hey Guys,

I grew up with these trucks and had a '77 C10 as my first vehicle, but sadly had to sell it for tuition and have been wanting to get another one ever since. About two years ago now, I had someone offer me their '73 at a price I couldn't refuse which has landed me here now. :) I've finally gotten her running again and am now on the road to fixing her up. Figured it'd be good to find like minded souls to bounce ideas off of and see what y'all have done.

Well, here's what I started with:

...and here's what she is today with the exception that I have the grill reinstalled:

Not too many differences on the exterior, but she's got a fresh heart and new shoes. Next couple of items on the agenda is to replace the passenger fender and door.

Looks like she's coming along and similar to how I progressed on my truck. The exterior and pretty stuff was last so I'd spent thousands of dollars before she ever looked like she'd had a thing done to her by the casual observer.

I used to own an '02 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP quite awhile back and after joining one of those boards I just kept taking my nickname along with me for the ride.

I had a fun time modifying and having fun with that car, but I learned the hard way, don't turn your daily driver into a project car. Sucks when you have something break and it needs to get you to work on Monday.

You don't see those factory woodgrain trucks much anymore, too bad it's so faded. Pretty cool truck though:)

You can always bring that woodgrain back to life Auto Trans fluid and rub it on. Probably have to do it once a month for a few months, but it'll come back to life. To bad it's rusted is the bad part.

Thanks for the welcome!

Yeah... The woodgrain itself is pretty bad. Not sure if I want to keep it going forward, but it's peeling off in places as well. I would like to get the rust in the cab corners and over the wheels fixed soon, but I'm not sure when it'll happen with scarce funds at the moment. The roof I think is all surface rust which should come off with a bit of elbow grease and the bed rails have rust where the toolbox used to be. Almost wondering if it wouldn't be better just to replace the bed, but having the original is kinda nice.

Good luck with the build. Good to see another long wheel base being built. Thought I was the only one
