**** I wish I still had my suburban I checked the front end and swear it had quad shocks I seen the upper mount like in the pic on the first page the PO musta cheaped out and just put 4 new shocks sometime in its life I wish I could check it for the rpo now

help! i have the dual front shocks and im in the middle of putting in new shocks... which one is the secondary one and which would come from the factory normaly? i dont know which place to put the new ones in...

I could be wrong, but I believe the inboard one is the one that matches the rear shocks. And the shorter one is the outboard.

so why don't you just buy some hoops like mine and run triple shocks per tire? It looks like they just had to notch the inner fender wells to get them in.
