C20 suburban and sway bars

Howdy all,

My 85 c20 has a conservative drop (spindles and springs up front, shackles and leafs rear).

I have the factory sway bar up front and none in the rear.

Does anyone have any recs for sway bars specifically the rear? Curious if moving to a umi or qa1 even up front too would be better….

Can you find one in a wrecking yard off a truck, camper special version? If you can get the rear bar and it's requisite spring pack bracketry, it's a matter of drilling a hole (that could already be there) for the upper link bushing to locate to.

Probably just that easy.

what that guy said .. I would find an OEM chevy sway bar set up off a junk yard truck, clean, paint and fit it. That way you know it has been GM tested and engineered, will fit and be fit for purpose etc.
Just be careful that you get a single rear wheel set up, not the dually one. They are different widths.
Also be aware adding sway bars changes your suspension behaviour, so would pay to make sure all bushes in the springs are in good order, and you may need to renew shocks too ( adjustable, eg. air type, shocks allow some tuning to the ride once all the hardware is in place. )
