Hello everyone. First post here. I'll try to keep the noobness to a minimum!

Anyways I have an 81 C10, single headlights. I want to switch out to a double light system. The question is....do I need to swap radiator supports? I noticed in the LMC catalog that there were different radiator supports for single and dual headlight trucks. Thanks!

Yes you need to change the core support.

The following was written for a 1986 quad headlight conversion and will differ somewhat for an earlier model, but the basics apply.

The wiring modifications are not that involved - if you decide to go that route. I don't do it that way. I find the best bet is to hunt down a truck with quads in the junkyard and surgically remove the harness.

These are the major components that need to be changed:

1. The radiator support - must be specifically for quads. It will have two circular openings. Like this:

2. The grille. It's specific to the quad headlight setup and only mounts to the quad style radiator frame. Also it has the parking lights behind the fins:

3. You'll need a pair of quad bezels:

4. Headlight buckets (each one is different), sealed beams and retaining rings. Classic sells the complete assembly for $28 - aftermarket:

5. Mounting springs, adjusting screws and nuts for the quad style sealed beam assemblies

6. Misc screws

The good news is that the chrome trim around the grille and bezels is the same for both quads and dual headlight setups.
