That engine hoist is something else! I recently pulled an engine in my yard but used ply wood and my wife to help drag it out. Seeing that picture I immediately thought to myself, "I wish I woulda had that!" I'm gonna go try and find one, or figure out how to modify mine.

That cobbled up thing was from our local rent-a-center. All of $10.00 a day. Sure beat using the tree and chain hoist.

And to all the old codgers of my generation that reads this, start up a thread and show us what you had.
Wow, that might be fun.

Still hoping someone from my generation breaks out the old photos and runs them thru the scanner.
And thanks guys for looking into my past!

Both my parents were born in 71, so I guess they are a generation later but still some neat stuff I think. My dad's 76 Trans Am with a 400 Pontiac that he bought from his brother for $600 back in 1986 or 7. I'll need to dig out the photo albums and find some other ones of stuff from his youth. My uncle was the one more into cars and had a few late second gen Camaros and other stuff like that.

We used to follow a girl around town in a ‘74. The car and her are still here and the car is untouched and driven. Keeps it under a cover.

If you find the pics, please start up a new thread. Old metal is still in my blood I guess.

Since Tina’s down for a bit we were going thru some of our old stuff she’d stacked away. Think she kept every note and letter we had ever sent to each other. That old box stirred up many memories, some I’d forgotten about. Some…wish they weren’t re-remembered. It was amazing what she had kept. Thought I’d add these to my thread….
For some odd reason she hung onto the stubs from the drive in and labeled most of them. Held them together with a thumbscrew lock

A piece of a gum wrapper chain that I had made. Did a bunch of chewing and picking the wrappers off the ground. Even my dad would bring some in as he chewed and found them. Started in 1 corner of my bedroom where the wall meets the ceiling and within a few months it made it around all 4 walls

That third one of "Love Is" reminds me of the first cold/flu season we spent together as a married couple. She had a runny nose and had just got home from work. I asked her it was okay to kiss as she wiped her nose with a kleenex. Yeah, I got sick. I still give her crap about that...lol...but she doesn't take it to heart and we laugh about it.

You have some great memories together. It's cool you can go through that stuff and recall some good times.

Still hoping someone from my generation breaks out the old photos and runs them thru the scanner.

I'd like to, but there is just too much to retype everything here.

I hope linking to other sites not a violation of site rules.

She's a cutie, Joe. Your photo looks like an advertisement from back in the day.

By the way - I married my High School sweetheart, too. We dated in the Chevelle.

It'll be 43 years together next July.

Really enjoyed that post, the cars, old fashions, especially that old Levi's T- shirt. Brought back memories of my brother and l working on cars in the backyard, as we had no garage either and made do with what we had.
I should go through our old photo box, but would need half a day. If anyone doesn't have a scanner, I find an easy way to upload old photos is to photograph them with the mobile phone.

That’s some sweet memories there.

The old girl went through a lot to become what she is now.

She still is. I can still see myself sitting on her bed and talking about the next purchase for the car. We met in August ‘74, so 46 yrs for us. Kinda like our old rides...it takes a lot of TLC and routine maintenance to keep them going.
