See i dont want any part of any of the new diesels. Id rather have a pre emissions cummins or a 3/4 ton gas motor. This emissions crap is only going to keep getting worse. Price will continue to go up and performance will continue to go down.

Well, to each his own, right? That's why there are people with duallies lifted 12" though you and me think (edit: know) that's dumb as f***

I told my son that if he ever bought a new lifted $40000- $50000 truck I was going to put my foot up his ***. I told him to spend that money on a house not a damn truck. I also told him that he already has a lifted truck. He then informed me that my old truck would probably be better offroad than a new one anyways.

But seriously I think the price of the new trucks is the reason our trucks are worth more today. That also is one contributing factor why they are being stolen. I guess not everyone has a cool squarebody.:)

The price of squares going up only helps if you plan on selling one :D

It's not just duallies lifted 12 inches, it's any vehicle lifted 12 inches. If it's used strictly as a monster truck or something of that sort it doesn't matter, but any vehicle is rendered useless for off roading once lifted too high.

Agreed, modern trucks are way overpriced. I recall as a kid, grandpa, dad, uncles, friends dad's, etc being on a trip and wanting a new truck and dropping the $2-3-thousand dollars for it and driving it home.

Even more expensive are the new corvettes...$120k!!! No thank you.

My most expensive vehicle I purchased was my Subaru Outback and I got them to knock off $5,000 to get it out the door for $18,500. It was a one-owner vehicle with just under 40,000 miles on it. Was too fancy for me so I sold it and got a Forester, much more fun than the Outback. The vehicle with the most available return would be my '81, a numbers matching truck except for the vortec heads and intake. Spent $1,000, could probably get $2-4 thousand profit depending on upgrades and making sure everything is operational. I just don't want to sell it.
