Billet Grilles

[Boondock]

I've recently been looking into getting LMC Truck's custom billet grille with the polished silver Bowtie emblem. I'm thinking of going for a very sleek finish with new trim and new chrome.

Anyways, I'm interested if any of you know how would you open your hood if you have a billet. I'm sure MANY, if not everyone, of you know that 1978 is one of the years where you had to pop the hood from the front, instead of a lever inside the cab. And you have to reach into the grille to do so.. Anybody know? :3

My uncle welded a rod to his hood release so he pushes on it just below his front bumper and releases his hood. His truck is a 75

That would be awesome!

Another idea is to retro fit an Hood Release lever from inside the cab. I'm sure they are available at that PAP lot for cheap but you'd have to get the whole assembly I'd bet.
