I think a nice sounding choice would also be hooker aero chambers. They seem to sound awesome on more performance engines.

Shoooooo, worked on a 78 with a 502, long tubes into glasspacks and it sounded perfect if you were a 21yr old parked at the dollar general, 4 natural lights deep on a Friday evening.
I’d suggest Borla’s

I'll be 100% honest, I don't like it either. It may or may not be permanent, waiting to find out.

Bucket and I are on the same page. We don't like it either but keep in mind it's not up to the staff. We have no control over things like that

Well i appreciate all the information here, i didnt even ask for mufflers lighter on the wallet, and you guys provided anyways, nice!
I guess i will just have to make a choice, but it appears like walker, jones, and the std flowmaster are the best choices here that'll tame some of the roar.
Let us know watcha choose!

I bet he buys the Flowmaster.
Not that one, my guess is that he ends up with a 40 series.
Surely not two mufflers because double mufflers raise the exhaust volume by around 8db.

I used to run a Flowmaster 40 on my mildly built 454, but the wife's constant nagging about it being too loud finally broke me down. I now have a Flowmaster 70 BB. It's very quiet at idle and low rpm, but has a great tone when you open it up. I haven't noticed any difference in power, and you can have a conversation without raising your voice. But now I have to listen to the wife, I suggest going with the 40!
