So you're working on it again? Awesome!
Have couple of weeks to make progress before school starts. Even work I thought was done, is not and have to go over.

I just noticed this thread started in 2016. I applaud the dedication. My k5 was almost 3 yrs (6 months at paint and body) and I was ready to push it off a cliff.

Was rushed, but mostly covered with primer. And more cutting.

I really need to redo a lot of the work the body shop did. I coated it for now, but their welding is worse than my harbor freight welder.

There are two braces missing on both sides of the quarter panel as well. Test fitted the parcel shelf thing and still trying to decide if I need it in place before cutting the tubs out. Much easier access to the inner tubs with the parcel shelf not installed.

It keeps getting more expensive by the minute. Upper dash is out as well. Also ordered everything to replace the work body shop did.

Took a bunch of measurements and keep cutting things off. Non of the inner bracing was actually welded to the panel, and a bunch of other holes besides the burned/failed welds.

Few more weeks and not sure if there will be anything left at this rate. Sold the front subframe today and put the engine in the corner of the garage. Subframe connectors actually made for good handles to wheel the thing around until the motor was out.

Tried to paint inside of the subframe rails along with some other metal that needs to be installed with some epoxy primer.
