I've got a friend who is trying to talk me into trading a set of World Products 200cfm small block cast iron heads. By my research, it looks like they're probably Sportsman IIs, but there us a chance that they're Dart Iron Eagle 200s as well. I'll actually be looking to build a mild small block for an upcoming project, thinking around 400hp/450tq out of a 383.

Think either of these heads would fit the bill? Anything to watch out for on either of them?

Going to look then over very carefully before I commit to anything. Try and find casting numbers or marks, and also measure the valves. I've had someone try to pass off a set of heads with 1.94 valves as 2.08s, so I'm pretty reluctant to believe what anyone says when they stand to benefit from the trade or sale. They are older heads, but supposedly good to go.

I currently have Sportsman 2's on my 406. They are nice heads for the price, 2.02/1.60's etc. My truck runs great, and I have no complaints. With that said, I am moving up to AFR Eliminators later this year. But, if they are what he says they are, go for it. Would work well with the 383.

afr's are the bomb in my book. I ran a set of sportsman 2's on a fairly wild 350 and I was very happy.

Pricey for sure! My truck is paid off this year, so I'll have some extra coin. As long as the kids have food and clothes, and the Mrs. see's the house payment is in, I'm in the clear.
