85 vent windows

Not on a square yet,but on other vehicles,I've used vinyl tape,applied carefully,worked into crevices with a plastic picnic knife,trimmed with exacto knife,looks good,fast,cheap easy to redo if necessary.last one I did was years ago. I'll check on it for years of durabilty.

Was gonna suggest this. Wrap them! Perfect non invasive semi permanent or permanent solution.
Haven’t done it yet but planning to on the ‘77 as I’m not painting it, but the wing window frames look like @ss.

With not much spare time I don’t like doing things twice, although seriously contemplating doing window and door gaskets for appearances sake. But procrastinating because all work well, no water leaks, no big air leaks at speed.

My wing window rattle can has lasted 3-4 years on my burban. Not faded yet, just took the gloss off the semi gloss. Dirt, dust, rain, sun.

Yep, or they'll sell ya a whole new assembly ready to go. We've got them in stock last I checked

No sh!t…. I wish they were doing that when I was looking. The only ones I was aware of were the LMC assemblies and the were out of stock. Instead I restored my old ones which was enough to know I would pay to have them done if I had to do another set.

Even if it’s parked outside in North Dakota year round, the amount of UV compared to where @SquareRoot lives is considerably less.
When we lived in Phoenix, I was amazed how fast the heat and sun destroyed stuff. I thought Denver or Albuquerque were bad compared to the Upper Midwest where I grew up. But the desert was a whole new level of UV exposure. Unreal. A plastic tarp like the good brown ones only lasts a few months in the summer desert sun before turning to powder. 5 gal buckets don’t make it a whole year outdoors in the sun.

I had intended to have those pieces powder coated black when I had my wing windows all disassembled. But time constraints got in the way and I sprayed them with Rustoleum black… we’ll see how well it holds up.

Yep. They debuted the new assemblies at SEMA 2 years ago and we started carrying them about 6 months later once they were were able to start stocking people

I looked at them on AMDs site, 73-80 they appear to be the two piece seal design? Like OE?

Wasn’t it that the later one piece seal design were the only ones that used to be available as a new assembly?

Ya know, I should probably know that. Let me check and see, I'm honestly not sure if they stuck with a 2-piece or did a 1-piece.

I think you're right, LMC was the only game in town for a long time and I seem to remember them only being the later style, though they were perpetually out of stock.

Fun fact idk if you knew, there's "technically" 5-6 different vent window assemblies through the years, GM did several small revisions. But Precision just stuck with doing an early and a late version to keep it simple

Just heard back from PRP, they do use the correct 2-piece seal

All depends how much environmental exposure they see.
