I bought the parts to rebuild mine and gave up after fighting with putting them together (couldn’t get the pivot nut right). Sent off to precision to have them rebuilt. Not cheap but look great.

I do have wind noise from the driver side vent window. I don’t know if it workmanship or if it is what the windows sounded like in 1984.

Does anyone know if you can buy this trim piece for the vent window for a 1985 c10. The inside piece is like plastic. But the outside is metal. Mine is rusty. Can’t reuse these after all the work I have put into restoring this truck.

Pictures below. Any help be greatly appreciated
Try vintage Chevy Parts he sells new aftermarket used(from trucks HE took apart), and NOS.
He used to be in Fremont Ca but moved his store to Oregon.
I bought a lot of parts from him when he was in fremont including a engine he put in my 85 K20.

I looked at them on AMDs site, 73-80 they appear to be the two piece seal design? Like OE?

Wasn’t it that the later one piece seal design were the only ones that used to be available as a new assembly?
1989 GM switched to the new 1-piece seals on the Blazer/Jimmy, Suburban, and crewcab trucks. Less wind noise

In our research, the 1-piece started sometime in the '81-85 timeframe. My '85 has it's original windows in it and they're 1-piece seals

I powder coated a lot of those parts on the '77. The downside is powdercoat can be thick enough to cause some interference issues. On the '90 we are doing now, I will most likely Cerakote.

I was going to redo my vent windows myself. I even bought the repair kits. I am running out of time and want to finish my truck this summer. I sent them off to Precision to have them redone. They called today and they are on their way back to me.

Then there must be a third design too!!

My father bought my '83 new. I bought it from him in 1988. I installed new GM vent window assemblies from a 1990 Suburban from the local GM dealership in 1999. The seals on these were larger and actually came out on top of the exterior door shell, all the way around. WAY BETTER sealing- That's why I used these new vent window assemblies. I thought these were the new design, 1-piece seals?? I had been paying attention around town and at the local wrecking yards and noticed the better design....

There's actually 5-6 designs of the vent window assemblies throughout '73-91. I forget where all the breaks are at this point but yeah
