i have a 2005 4 door 1/2 ton silverado that the 4wd selector switch is giving me trouble. i was gona see if anyone knows what all years would inerchange they put the same looking switch in a lot of years and didn't know if they were the same or not. i have found a lot of good deals for the replacement switches for the 99-03 trucks but not for the 05's the only difference i can see is that on mine the switch is labeled with arrows and the older ones are wrote out. thanks for looking

I think how the switch actually works from 99-06 (07 Classic) is the same. It's just a difference in what the face of the button looks like.

well the new switch came in today, i put it in and i dont know what the problem is now but my 4wd is still not working. with the old switch when you turned the key on all of the lights would light up but with this one the only light that comes on is the neutral light, and then it goes off and my service 4wd light comes on. not sure if its the switch or something else. anyone got any ideas or comments

The new switch might be defective or might have loose connection somewhere.
