I got a 1982 c10 I just picked up. When I turn left the truck stalls out its got a 350 with a 350th transmission. It also try's to stall when you park it and cut the wheel all the way to the left. Could it be that the power steering pump is seizing up or am I missing a bigger issue?

Is the idle speed at specs and does it idle ok?

Jack up the front. Does it still stall with the weight off?

Try turning the wheels by hand while in the air, does it turn hard?

I am more inclined to think it could be something in the suspension seized up.

If not that, next would be the box, then pump. Provided the engine doesn't have idle issues.

1st thought float level too high causing flooding when the ca4b angle ischanged. 2nd thought a wire shorting on something that moves as you turn. 2nd scenario I encountered while working at the dealership.it was a puzzler bit I eventually found it. A wire would blow up and touch,I think it was the a/c pulley at highway speed and short and kill it. It would restart but do it again at highway speed
