Pulled the spark plugs. This time to swap them out instead of scraping deposits off them between tanks of gas like usual.
Went with a different one yet again. This change probably makes half dozen or more different plugs I've tried over the past few years.

My kid always refers to the truck as his.
He drives it 98% of the time.

Today I told him he could make it his for $1500...
That would make it his 3rd vehicle at 18 years old.
He told me to put it on his tab.

I said no, cash in hand.
Until then, it is mine.
So it's still available? Asking for a friend..

Bought a new set of seat belts. Removed the old belts and installed the center set first because they were easy. The left and right side are a little harder because the mounting brackets aren't the same. I'm ending up cutting the old brackets to modify them. Got the right side in tonight. Finish the driver's side soon.

My boy's Nova is in his name and my name, one those "or" titles. I keep telling him I'm gonna come and get it, I forget it's here in my enclosed trailer with no engine and transmission. I stole them for Kooper's S10!!!!!...(Grandson)

He ain't no fool - why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free ?

:D

Now, in his defense, does his manual labor count for anything?

And, what is the board member discount off that $1500 ?

:dogpile:

Hell no his labor does not count for anything.
I pay for everything for him to learn how to do things on his own.
My dad was a work a holic and when I was 16 I wanted to do a father son thing with him to bond.
He just said I wanted his money.

I would have been light years ahead of where I am if he had spent some time with me.
So I do that with my kids.

Plus, if I were to sell it now at todays nutso prices I would be asking for around $7500 and letting them talk me down to $6000.

I am glad I bought it when the prices were fair and squares were all over the for sale pages.

Started in on the drum brakes. Got it all off and layed out so hopefully I can put it back together right. Lol

Glad I got new cylinders. These are trash. Clean and reassemble.

I'm missing the little concave washer for the back of the pin that holds shoes in place tho.

Guess I'll go get a couple new ones from the parts store.

@Maxwellvis is out in the driveway now installing a set of Nova headers onto the big block.

They are a set of rusty freebies from a buddy.
This will be the test set to see what needs adjusted with a hammer.
Then perhaps we will pick up a fresh new set to get put on....

That washer and pin is all you need. And the spring too of course. The nail head end goes on the back side of the backing plate. Then the spring goes on (after the shoe) and then you put the concave washer on and rotate it on the pin 90 degrees to lock them together.
