yeah, I wouldn't want that interrupting my hunt, nor having to wrench out there in the rain. Coming back to trailer it home wouldn't be a happy trip either. Let us know what happened this time.
Well, got it going again. Went over to the Parking lot where it died and disconnected the fuel line to the carb and stuck the end in a plastic bottle. Cranked it for a few rotations and got plenty of fuel flowing….
Pulled out a spare ignition module from a spare HEI I had(it had 5/01 written on it in paint marker, and the date seems right for it to have been put in the distributor around that time) and stuck it in with some fresh heat sink paste on it. Fired right up and I’m back at it. I bought a spare fuel pump and ordered a spare AC Delco ignition module to put in the truck just in case it quits on me while out hunting.

Cleaned it, tightened a couple of belts, adjusted the sleeve for my steering (again) and started loading it for our trip to Cruisin the Coast. Supposed to pull out today after lunch.

It's already got a Carolina Squat thing going and it's only half of what Mrs. Redfish has to put in the back. At this rate I am going to have to pull my utility trailer behind it for my (her) luggage.

Click me
That is a great price! Followed the link and found a couple models deep discounted, but not the one for my 2006 Chevy pickup.

4wd swap engaged. Musical trucks also engaged. Slow build, per usual lol. Dodge Dana 60 just mocked up, getting some ORD front spring hangers and offset bushings. Then I'll be punching a hole for the rear front spring hanger, also getting the cab and chassis axle, springs and hangers from the 77. Mostly everything is stripped, this is the junk cab.

Blew apart 30-40 rivets already. Cut the heads in half, air hammer with a chisel to pop the top, then air hammer with a punch to push em through, had to drill a few out after getting the tops off. A few more to do for the crossmembers so I can clean and paint under them, one at a time.

Still deciding if por 15 is worth it or not..

Starting on a new (to me) hood finally, before the rain falls. I don’t mind that my the “Blue Bomber” isn’t perfect or pretty, but the hood that’s on it has a couple dents and is a darker shade of blue. I ordered up a couple cans of my paint code and we’ll see how close they got. Can’t be much worse than what’s on it. Oh, wait…yeah it can. :Big Laugh:

HELP. The rear shock exchange has been sidelined! I can't get the nut inside or outside the frame to budge at all. As mentioned before the truck is on the ground. I did remove the spare to get a little extra room and the truck is lifted 2 inches. Also I am working with a regular socket set, so 3/8 in( I don't have 1/2 in). It does have an extension arm I am trying to get the nuts unstuck with. WD 40 sprayed on as well. I have even tacked on a long 15/16 closed end wrench for leverage and no give. Now time is up, we gotta to go my sons baseball game.

Anyone have some advice. I don't have a torch or impact wrench but did seriously think about going to get one or both. Would rather not fork out the $$ for an impact. What you guys got for me?

I’d get a cheap propane torch- heat, soak with PB Blaster, repeat. Go slow with a breaker bar. Usually works for me.

A 3/8 drive should take it off no problem. Buy a breaker bar or get a pipe.
