I'm a 4x4 owner so I am a big fan of OEM rally wheels if you are sticking with a 31 or 33. Now days bigger wheels are the rage but those clown college looking things that brodozers use have no place on a square. Alternatives to stock for me are American Racing AR 62 in brushed finish, AR 172 in Polish or Black, and then the classic chrome or white Spoke/Wagon steel wheels, and then there is also the beloved and classic 5 slot aluminum "Mag" from Mickey Thompson fame.

I have the white spokes on there now but looking for something a little beefier looking and do a 2" lift...I liked the look of the first wheels I posted the best and realize there are pretty damn similar to the polished mags!?

I LOVE those slot wheels but F'N HATE those bfg AT tires!!! Kinda sad that everybody uses them when they suck so bad.
I really liked the set I had, I got 65k out of a set on a 2006 z71. They took me anywhere I needed to go, and would have lasted longer if I hadn’t gotten lazy on my rotation.

I also like wagons such as you have! I had chrome ones on my gmt400 pickup.

Honestly thats why i hate them.... they wont go where i want to go. They sucked big balls in terms of traction when i had them. Bfg mud terrains on the other hand!!! ESPECIALLY the original tread pattern, there wasnt a place they wouldnt take my burban! I actually have them on the back of my 2wd s10 right now.

I agree, the original style (actually two variations of the original style) Mud Terrains worked so well and lasted so long, it almost made the All Terrains pointless.

As for the original question, most definitely stay with 6-lug wheels on a 6-lug truck. No adapters or monkey business.

Imho, if an aftermarket 6-lug wheel has too small of a center bore, it is going to be a wheel style that doesn't belong on an older truck anyways.

I’m not promoting BFG ATs, but when they had decent tread depth (apples to apples with any tire, anything other than dry traction decreases with tire wear), if they weren’t getting the job done in dirt mud or snow as good as any AT tire, you were doing something wrong….

Biggest traction issue in low traction conditions is tire pressure. Not saying this is you, but the vast majority of the world couldn’t air a tire to the proper pressure for load or conditions to save their life.

Wheel choices seems to be all over the board with Squares but the 4x4 hubs in particular pose a problem for a lot of wheels it seems?

It also seems the spec'd centerbore is way larger than he actual hub?

My thought was a late model take off wheel from an HD truck to clear the hubs and use wheel adapters to fit? Has anyone tried this? I have two OEM wheels I'm looking at and I prefer the oval mags vs the spokes but the price is right on the spokes if the adapters will work?

The first set will fit right with no changes. The second set are from a newer GMT-800 truck and need a metric 2" spacer adapter. I ran a similar set on a C20 that I had for a while. They had basically brand new tires and I got them for $150 dollars for the set, so I went with it. A 2" spacer put them right to factory looking position. The 2011-newer HD trucks are a metric 8x170 pattern and will not fit on older 8x6.5" vehicles, so you can often find them for a steal as people put stupid rockstar rims on them right off the lot.

If you are 6 lug... dont even look at the 8 lug stuff. You dont want to mess with the adapters and other nonsense. You have a ton more options being 1/2 ton anyways.

I like white wagon wheels , and have had some in the past on Ram Chargers.

Always biased towards the ralley wheels on 1/2 ton Subs and Blazers, though. :)

Trick now is finding them if you don't already have them.

GM 6 lug ralleys are 8 inches wide - those wagon wheels in your pic sure look deeper than that - may just be the pic, though.

whats the part number for those wheels? I tried looking but couldn’t find the 6 lug for trucks. Are those 7” or 8” wide?

I tend to run mine over pressure. Im an oddball with certain vehicle aspects. Tires, wipers, headlights, oil for example. I usually keep 40 psi in my tires at all times
