Filling a k10 wheel well, best wheel to tire ratio

I'm in the market for some new tires, and possibly some different wheels for my 79 k10. Im running 31/12/15

at stock ride height, and they kinda look silly IMO. I'd like to fill the wheel well a little more, and I like the taller, thinner tire look. Plus I'm hoping to get a little better mpg out of the thinner tire.
From what I've read, 33 inches is the max my wheel well can fit without modifications, so I found a couple different wheel/tire options I could go with.
I'd like to see some pictures if possible, and hear some opinions, of different wheel sizes with tires that fill my wheel well.

255/85/17
275/70/18
245/70/19.5

OP, your truck either has the worlds healthiest stock springs or those are lifted front springs. Not a lot looks to be 2-3”.

I thought it looked a little high also. There's a lot of space between the tire and the fender.

Nice thought, but I do not believe so on a '79, although they certainly could have upgraded.




Still partial to the round eyes, but that 80 Chevy grille with the squircles sure looks good !!

I’d slap some 2” blocks in back to level it up better or give it a bit of forward rake too!

Back looks stock.

Here a picture of mine with the 33x12.5 0n 16.5s truck has 2" or so of lift.

Second picture is the same truck with 265x75x16 (summer tires for now) definately look a bit goofy compared to the 33s.

I'm not sure if the year differences make an impact on this or not. Probably it being a k20 makes a difference.. forgot to mention that.

It looks like all the cool kids are staying in the 15, 16 in wheel range.
