My yellow truck recently whiped a cam lobe, so I have parked it until my new cam comes (comp cam 0.489 lift, 223 duration).

Since we have been getting some fierce snow lately, I have found that my '95 Suburban's tires are like drag slicks compared to the yellow trucks 265 75 r15 Cooper Discoverers.

So I swapped wheels.

Compared to those dinkey aluminum wheels that were on the Suburban before, these look badass.

But I basically ruined the yellow truck.

This won't stick, just until I fix the yellow truck.

It don't look right. You gonna go through the 250 while you're at it or just replace the cam and rock it?

I ran it a bit low on oil, (not that low) and cold started it.

I don't think it is catastrophically damaged, but the intake valve on cylinder No. 4 does not really open at all.

I changed the oil, and completely disabled number 4 (Pulled the rockers and push rods out) since I still need it within the next week.

I don't plan t go through the engine (I don't have time). I am just replacing the camshaft and cylinder head.

I am not even taking the engine out of the truck, I am just going to pull the radiator and grille.

I also have a new head off a 194 which should bump my compression up to 10 to 1.

Sounds like a decent plan. Can be done in a weekend.

No, but I am about to go on a two week Christmas break (I am a senior in high school) and I will be able to work on it then. Other then the fact that my hours at work are a bit crazy at this time of year, I should be able to get it done.

Once you open it up you'll want to button it up as soon as possible. Having the Christmas break will help a lot. I will taking vacation over Christmas to get stuff done because I am limited on time otherwise.

Unruined now, turns out to have been a bent pushrod somehow.

Stuck one in from my 194 parts motor, and I'm back in business.

Other than swapping the wheels/tire back onto my truck, I also had my suburbans tires remounted on some junkyard steel wheels I got.

Really looks better, especially with the new grille.

I still have the camshaft, and still plan to install it, but i'll just keep driving it for now.

Well it was a good story.
The character development was interesting, I think the audience really enjoys the "wheel and tire options" but the ending sucks.
Theres no drama or anything which pull the audience back in...maybe a simple bonus fix or a tool trick would help provide a satisfying conclusion..

good luck.

LOL- kind of like Once upon a time in Hollywood- wait, WTF ?

Glad it was a simple (relatively ) fix for the OP, though!

Glad you got it back up and running, with minimal effort.

By the way, I like both the boats in the background. That's where most of my free time / money goes... :)
