Got a new to me Cat Eye. Picked it up with 199k on the clock. Belonged to the wife's grandfather and had been sitting a few years. Truck was in decent shape just needed a bit of love. Was bone stock for 2 days and it began.
So here we go it got a new rear main with cover.
Oil pan got dropped bc during an oil change a glob of **** came out. When dropping the pan it had about 3in of gunk in the pan as well as trash on the pick up tube. Cleaned that up and swapped pan gasket.
Check engine came on for knock sensors. Swapped them and the harness. While I was in there also did intake and valley cover gaskets.
Check engine light for evap. Swapped the pump and the canister. Still have the CEL for that one so need to look into it a bit more.
Dropped tranny pan did a filter and fluid change. Also swapped in a set of Vette Servos and swapped to a Mishimoto cooler.
Changed cam and crankshaft sensors.
Changed radiator hoses, heater hoses and 160 thermostat followed by a coolant flush.
Changed to a set of RPL Extreme Ceramic plug wires, NGK Iridium IX plugs and MSD Coils.
Changed belts, idler and tensioner. New alternator due to low output. Clutch change on the AC compressor, orifice tube, low Schrader valve and Hi connection. Cleaned interior coils.
Cracked open rear diff for a fluid change and installed Yukon cover.
Changed wore out front steering components. Installed set of HD CV shafts and Rough Country Steering Stabilizer.
Front brakes were trashed so did a 2020 Brake swap with braided lines, drilled and slotted rotors.
Rough Country keys for a little 2in lift up front with an add a leaf in the rear and N3 Lift Shocks. Tossed in a set of Timbrens in the rear and didnt care for the ride so went with a set of Air Bags with onboard air. 20 Silverado 17s with a set of 285/70r17 Badlands R/T with a full sized spare under the bed.
Added an intake, Flowmaster, TB Spacer and a Edge CTS3.
Also a Softopper, UpTop bed rack, Armordillo Grill Guard, 4 "KCs" up front. 2 on the cowl and 2 on the grill guard. All new exterior light, grill and Billet Grill. Topped off with a Black Aluminum Bow Tie.
Also had to swap out the ole factory radio and speakers bc... they just didnt work.
Sitting in the back of the truck now is a new set of 410s for the front and rear with a Duragrip to get the Gov Bomb out.
Coming up will more than likely be a BTR cam and torque converter after the gear swap. I am basically just making this truck a capable tow rig for the camper and a nice cruiser.
