Just an FYI-

Both companies have great products! The DSE front coils had the tires way up in the wheel well (probably a 3" drop) and I thought I'd try a set of UMI 2" drop springs. The rake was significant and I was definitely in the weeds with the DSE's. My 81 SWB does also have CPP UCA/LCA/2" Drop spindles.

Opposing side shots for reference on level stands.

What was the drive feel like? Did one feel significantly softer than the other?

FWIW, a lot of guys like myself run a 60 series front tire and the DSE wouldn’t have as much tuck.

Here’s my CPP front 2.5” spring and 2.5” drop spindle on 255/60/15.

Mine had 2" springs and spindles and a rear flip it sat to low with the 2" springs. I couldn't get a jack under it with a flat.

This is with stock springs and drop spindles.

This is mine with a 26" tire up front and a 28" in the rear with just Wilwood spindles and a rear flip as far as drop. a 28" tire would take up some of the gap and give it less of that "race car" look.

I believe the DSE springs are near a 3" drop. UMI 2" just installed it's right near level and ever so slight rake. The Detroit springs though I was in the weeds. Loads of tuck on a 7" wide wheel.

The ride was good either way running the KYB Excel G shocks per the information here. I think the spring rating is near the same between the 2 companies. I did lop off half of the CPP LCA bump stop due to the Detroit springs having about 3/4" of clearance to the top hat for the spring before contact. Handles really good now with the front 1-1/4" CPP sway bar though.
