Because the mild, top of the page cams were often listed as "RV/Towing" for their applications. "RV cam" just means it's got a very mild, but not stock cam.
Towing and low speed torque i can understand, but where's all the cammed up RV's?

Don’t forget the 750 double pumper!

And 110ll av gas!
Ashamed of myself for not remembering those lol.

Pink rods
Gear drive was already mentioned but specifically Pete Jackson gear drive= your power steering pump is low on fluid

RV cam was for low rpm torque, all gas burning rv's are cammed rv's, diesel pushers are all torque as well

The 454 in my C10 originally came in one of those G-van bodied RV's... I like to joke and say it has an RV cam. It's not a lie if you think about it, lol.

Yeah you really need all that low RPM torque when youre screaming down the highway with a non OD transmission at 4000 RPMs lol

Low to get the mass moving, mid range (4000) to keep it moving = rv cam

Lol, mine's got an absolutely terrible 2.56:1 rear gear. It cruises the highway pretty well.

No, my pickup. I misunderstood what you were getting at.
All good. Guess I've derailed this thread enough for today though lol
