I love that color on a square body. My dad had one back in the day and he painted it to match a stock trailer he bought new, and it became ugly dark green.
Me too, unfortunately mine will not be that color, mine will be colonial yellow with a white roof. If I was building one that wasn't a family truck, I would do that color with white in between the trim. Possibly a white roof too but definitely between the trim on the higher models

Popped the diff cover off this morning and cleaned it up a bit… it’s not paint clean by any means on the outside. Caked in oil because someone decided to just seal it with silicone….. ffs….

Did verify I have 3.42 gears. Was told 2.73, so happy to find 3.42. Oil was clean so hadn’t been in there long but new oils always good. Think I will need to pull pinion gear out at some point and replace that seal. But will have to get to that later.
3.42 is a good gear, way better than 2.73 unless it's a car.

Cool, reason I ask is I have 3d printed a few badges and I drew up a 307 but kind of made it up based on the style. @hoagster bought one of them for his build.

Those look awesome. Did you use a chrome pen for the outlines? I'd like to get into making my own stuff like this, just wondering if they make a filament that resembles brushed aluminum or stainless?

I do, but these are done in silver, white, black and orange, I have not changed my process on the other stuff though.

Back on the rear brakes. The Blazer has the big shoes (2 3/4” wide) and nobody in town had them or could even order them, so ordered AC Delco’s from Rock Auto. These came yesterday. Then I went to clean up the adjusters and found they were seized so had to order those from Oreilly’s. These came in today but one was jammed closed so tight I couldn’t budge it and it was missing the end cap and washer. I suspect that somebody jammed it tight trying to loosen it, not knowing it was left hand threads, then returned it. Oreilly ordered me two more and delivered them and took the other two back.

Those are pretty sweet. I've done a little bit of this kind of thing, but in aluminum with a CNC mill. Here are a couple snaps:

Those are awesome. I'm gonna wind up needing one of those in the 496 variety if you are selling any.

Because I want everything to match, I'm doing my own dash plaque. I need to change the nozzle but I will do that when I'm going back together with the truck. My printer is running too good to mess with it.

No don't chop it down that's the trendy hipster thing to do around here to the point I've seen one other long bed besides mine running around here. 75% of the short bed squares here are originally long beds That have been hacked into short beds.

Then they ask even more for them than normal because short bed bro. As if being in the rust belt isn't bad enough when it comes to prices on these trucks.

I wonder if there will ever be a time when long beds are the trendy thing. And there's kits to extend the cut trucks back into long beds.

I highly doubt it, but I still wonder, lol.

Nobody ever built anything but half tons a while ago, but lately there are people building the heavier trucks. Anything is possible...
