Not so much what I did to my Square today, but what I did for it.

I had a Dr appointment today, and since I live at the literal end of the road, it is 210 miles round trip to the Dr office and back. So not only did the K20 Burb get some good road miles at 60mph, I filled up the gas tank "in town" with TOP TIER™ gas at Valero where 87 was $3.09 compared to "down here" at the Alon which peddles their not so top tier gas at $3.95. I think the Burb is happy...

Got a white paint pen to mark the harmonic balancer, couple cans of Sprayway glass cleaner, and a couple bottles of Techron at O'Reilly. So these are on the 'do to' list.

No don't chop it down that's the trendy hipster thing to do around here to the point I've seen one other long bed besides mine running around here. 75% of the short bed squares here are originally long beds That have been hacked into short beds.

Then they ask even more for them than normal because short bed bro. As if being in the rust belt isn't bad enough when it comes to prices on these trucks.
Why I won't sell my longbeds. A guy at the butcher shop has first dibs on the 81 if I ever decide sell it. He likes the truck, and not someone that will commit the hackery

What I don't get is why so many people prefer to make pickup bed trailers from short beds. A long bed trailer is way more useful...
My point exactly in the original truck!.... I dont want a short bed for workin and doin truck stuff. A long bed is so much more useful to me, even my daily mini square is a long bed.

I hear your point too cus i see people (at my job) with short bed trailers packed to the gills and think... why the funk wouldnt they have a long bed...?

No matter what the bed length may be, a running, driving squarebody is always more useful than a not running, not driving, garage/yard ornament
Indeed. Wasn't looking to create another short/long bed discussion. The great thing about squares is they're a blank slate for whatever you may want.

I work my shortbeds harder than most of the guys with longbeds around here. Sure, it takes more trips but at least I'm working them. I'll end up with a longbed one of these days, I'd like to do a RCLB or a CCLB 4x4. Longbeds have their place for sure.

Words cannot express the frustration looking for this final spring. Down on the floor with a flashlight, checked the trash, checked outside where I painted, checked everywhere.

At some point I invented new profanity. That was about the same time I started questioning the dogs, who had no idea what was going on but really wanted to be somewhere else.

just got my swap over to J-hook style wiper arms, got the wet arm all hooked up, I bought a couple universal nozzles to put out near the wiper the Dorman 42631 arms are 4mm wide so ya got to find nozzles that will fit them, got mine on Amazon. Also had to drill a detent hole in the arm to hold the nozzle in place and a dab of super glue to make sure it stays put ,nozzles work good!!

Drew up some Camper Special emblems to play with, can't decide if I like them better than the ones I restored or not. I had a thought of getting rid of the 77 yellow trim and then doing the teepee in white like the last Pic but I'm not sure. Wanted to get your opinion, stay with the 77 trim and teepee with the restored emblem or change it out to match the rest of my emblems I've made?

It's maybe one of the last good mom and pop meat market/grocery stores we have here. Started in 1954. You're darn tootin I have good rapport with the staff there.

This particular guy is a woodworker off duty. Cool guy. It was about 2 years ago, he was ending his shift, I was parking the 81 as he walked out. Cool discussion about old trucks, and an off the cuff offer ensued.

I have 3 sets and one was a mis match so I took the factory emblems off and changed it out to see. Still not completely sold but I like trying things.
