Dually fenders without clearance lights?

I happen to have a set of fiberglass dually fenders that I'm contemplating for my side quest K3500 since OE fenders seem to be hens teeth around here.

Mine don't have provisions for the clearance lights. They are smooth finish without even the indents for the clearance lights. I'm not sure the source. I picked them up as a package deal with another car a while back.

Are clearance lights required on dually fenders? Anybody know of trucks that have these "no lights" fenders on them?
I'll add pics of the fenders (they are not installed) when I remember to take some.

Unless your cops in SC are a lot smarter (not likely) or a lot meaner (possible), fender lights on an old dually that already has 7 running lights on the back is a non issue imo. Assuming you’re not hauling DOT with it or don’t have state vehicle inspections.
And if it’s an issue for you personally or you think it’s a risk, buy 2 ea orange and 2 ea red marker lights in any of the 100s of flavors offered and install them in the fenders. It’ll cost you like $40 or less for your choice including some more wire and connectors.

It would technically be illegal to run without them, but I don't think you would ever run across an officer that would hassle you about it.

fender lights on an old dually that already has 7 running lights on the back is a non issue imo.

I have been trying to figure out where I'm supposed to have 7 running lights on the back. Can you clue me in? I'll be putting a bed from a donor (C10) truck on this truck sometime and will have to wire all this up to properly reflect a K3500.

5 tailgate lights and 2 taillights.

Are you doing this because you want it to look original or because you’re worried about being DOT legal?
You could slap a 3 light light bar under the tailgate, one easy connection to be legal.

Only because I may occasionally move a skid steer or excavator or a few animals a few miles between a couple properties. It’s going to be a farm truck. Nothing over the road. I wanted the towing capacity.

I think my use would be dot exempt but I don’t know.

Then I would suggest learning the min requirements for rear facing lights on vehicles over 80” wide. AFAIK farm use or a farm plate doesn’t exempt one from basic dot vehicle safety requirements anywhere on road.
But you can fix that with a $9.99 set of led clearance lights, 2 screws, and a couple electrical connectors.

But IMO, squares look sweet with the full compliment of lights. I’d have added them to the blue truck just because, except after deleting several dozen extra accessory holes all over the body of the truck I didn’t want to put 15 more in the tailgate!

I believe even the aftermarket fenders had the lights in them. I'm sure you have looked inside to verify that they weren't just glassed over but I'd try and make it original style as they look good.

I've seen some guys near me that have glassed over the lights when using dually fenders for step sides when they narrow the bed.

I will double check but I’m pretty sure they don’t have anything.

That’s my plan. I’m thinking I will install lights. I got the fenders as a throw in with another car purchase and they do fit up nicely. The only ones I have seen for sale recently were nice but at 750 asking too nice for me to bash into trees at the farm.
