About the only advice I have on this is pull the plug off the motor and check for corrosion on any of the contacts, scrape if needed. Otherwise I would replace the motor, I dont think it's very expensive IIRC.

The smaller of the two plugs on the motor is the plug for that. It should be getting power when the switch is on the "off" position!

Is it possible that you removed the arms and did not get them back in the right location? If so, loosen them while off and drop them down to where they should be, then retighten.

Where do they "park" (that's the term for final position)?
\
Do they always park in the same spot?

By any chance do they park at the top of the stroke (i.e. all the way to the left)?

If they consistently stop in one position there is an issue with the mechanical alignment.

1. 180 degrees out:
The motor output shaft has 2 flat spots. Release the linkage from the motor shaft. Turn the wipers on and then off. With the motor shaft disco'd from the linkage, manually set the wipers to the correct park position. Then, with the motor stopped in park and the arms in a reasonable park position, re-attach the motor to the linkage.

2. Some arbitraryly wrong position:

The arms are driven by splined shafts. It may be that someone set the arms on the shafts incorrectly. Pull the arms off and using trial and error, determine a good park index between the internal arm splines and the external shaft splines.

Oh! I totally misread that question. Your problem is that yours don't park. They just stop where they happen to been when you turn them off? Hmmm....haven't seen that before. I would think it would have to be something with the motor though.

I dont think there's any special module that controls it, just the motor and the switch. I would replace the switch now, it would be best to find someone with a working switch you could just swap in and see if it fixes it.

Curt, is the circuitry to park the wipers in the switch or the motor?

I'm assuming switch, since he already replace the motor and it still does it.

Theres a ground wiper tab inside the motor. The tab wears out or gets out of adjustment over the years and then the wipers just stop wherever they are when you shut off the switch. If you pop the cover off the motor the tab can be bent in so it makes contact again and you'll have wipers that park at the bottom of the windshield again.

But he said it's a new wiper motor.
