What is the connector?

Asking about a np205 transfer case in my 1980 k10.

That is on top of my transfer case right above the linkages. It's two blade round connector and there aligned perpendicular to each other . I am guessing that it is used by some sort of indicator light to let you know your in 4wd. I just saw it for the first time tonight and saw it was disconnected. I tried to plug it back in but it wouldn't go. I guess the rubber around the connector was so hard on the female end that it just kept hitting the outside of the plug and wouldn't push on all the way.

That would be my thought as well, 4x4 indicator for the dash.

A similar, but different question. I have the same connector/switch on my NP203. What does the light indicate for a 203? It wouldn't make sense to indicate 4x4 since the 203 is a full time 4x4. It is always in 4x4. Maybe lo range?

The light indicates the transfer case is locked. NP203 has a differential gear set between the front drive shaft output and the rear drive shaft output. When the shifter is in the low lock or high lock the differential action has been locked.
