1984 3/4 ton Suburban, new to me. 14 bolt full floater. My rear/driver rotor does not turn forward or back. I have removed the axle and have done my best to get this rotor to come off. What is holding it up? Stuck brake pads? Percussive negotiation seems to make the entire drum slightly looser but something in the top is holding this son of a _____, sorry. I've taken the dog for a walk and relaxed again. lol
Do I need to take my skirt off and give it hell?!
Btw, the hardware that was holding it in: Retaining ring. Key block (square thing). One spindle nut. Should there be two nuts? Should there have been a washer/spacer between the nut and bearing?

I can look in and see the back of the bearing. Timkin. Made in the USA.

If the drum is worn there can be a lip on the edge of the drum that the shoes will get hung up on. Will need to run the self adjuster in to collapse the shoes.

Also, make sure the parking brake isn't on, silly, but that expands the shoes and will hold it up.

I have not been able to back off the adjusters but I can tell the e-brake cable is not tight. Doesn't mean it not still on!!

backing up the adjuster can be difficult. Using an adjustment spoon or other similar tool insert in the adjustment hole. Then using a second small straight screwdriver above the spoon push in to release the lever from the adjuster. At that point it should be possible to reverse the adjuster. That is if not stuck or frozen. It is possible to see both the lever and adjuster wheel with a light.

Try reaching into the back and back off the shoes with the adjuster if no slot in the backing plate hit it with your big purse.

Hook the ends of a 10ft chain across 2 opposing lugs. Pull the chain away from the truck so you make a long V put a sledge hammer or a maul down in the vee and bolt the 2 sides of the chain together behind the hammer handle swing the hammer like a golf club.

Inboard drum on a 14 bolt ff. Mated to the hub via lug studs.

I'm looking closer to the fins. My 70+ year old eyes may be playing tricks on me.

That is two pieces, a drum and a hub. Held together with 8 lug nut studs pressed through the drum into the hub.

The OP does not understand what he has if he calls a drum a rotor.

Pictures may help, with the drum and hub removed this is what you have @USAROVER

This picture of a C10 the adjuster shows better.

As @fast 99 stated, push in from the back with a small screwdriver, and move the adjuster arm off the star wheel. Then if the adjuster is not rusted solid, you can spin the adjuster in making it smaller. One side is left thread, the other right hand thread.

If you can't adjust the star wheel, either extreme force like @Ricko1966 stated or cut the drum off. Probably need new drums anyway.

The passenger side came off like a dress on prom night. that is allowing me to compare the star wheel for adjustment and thank you for the reminder to turn the other way.

BUT: Should this have had TWO spindle nuts? Neither side did.

Maybe not 2 nuts. Could be assembled with 1 Nylock nut. Then it should have a metal lock that fits in the keyway, and part of it sinks into the nylon of the nut. Need to tap it in with a punch. Fords have been using them for years. I don't care for them, but it is what it is.
