I was born n raised in north county San Diego. Definitely remember when there wasn't as much in Ramona @Mr Clean . We would drive the 78 through Escondido and Ramona to get to Julian. Where I live now reminds me of Julian/Mount Laguna quite often with all of the of the Ponderosa pines.
Yeah its built up quite a bit I'm in spring valley area now we also got property out in Campo so I take trips up the mountain every few months

Ajax, in 2007 we bought our first house on Country Club Place in Spring Valley, right at the 125/94 junction behind the IHOP and Wendy's. Then 2008 hit, I got laid off, our first born son wasn't even 1 year old yet, and we had to foreclose in 2009. I love the more rural places like Campo in SD County.

My wife and I were in SD back in June. Went to Julian just to have Apple pie, and the cinnamon ice cream. The drive was great in the convertible Camero and my bride of 31 years...

LOL... I can remember when 125 was just being built. 125, and 94 is where Family Fun center use to be. SD looks different now than it did when I grew up there. Some good, some bad. Santee is way different than in the time I grew up.

Mine is still wearing the original paint. It looks pretty good from a little distance but is pretty rough when you get close.

Reminds me of almost every woman I ever dated...
Likewise. Mine is pretty rough around the edges, but it bothers me none.

I posted on my timing thread, but also thought I’d put it here- switched the vacuum advance from ported to manifold vacuum and the readjusted the idle. Initial impression is that it “smells” cleaner when idling in the garage, and it seems to run cooler and just nicer during idle. Time will tell though.

Over the weekend I got the firewall upper seam resealed. The engine bay cleaned, coated with rust killer, cleaned again, painted with multiple coats of rust encapsulating paint. Got the 87 fuel tank painted, the stock brackets painted as well. the LS fuel pump (Wallbro 350) added to the tank and lines ran to the engine bay. Also pulled the heater core and replaced that while cleaning out the rat nests. Oh and I got the donor 2003 Yukons lower radiator core support cut out and mocked up in the C-10 so I can use the stock LS radiator.

Hopefully get the engine prepped this weekend and possibly get it set in place but that's going to be pressing it with as hot as its going to be.

Pinching pennies here. I’m working on 79-80 door panels and the dash pad from a 91 Sub. Maybe they’ll be worth putting into the 82 K1500 when I’m done.

Fixed a dent which I missed repairing a dent in the tail light area a month ago. Also ground down last two welded holes in box corners. Losing outside sunlight so not making much progress after work during the week. Fall hunting and fishing gonna cut into my progress as well. And, we know winter really locks progress.

Shaved the firewall today. I still have to finish welding, but I'm very happy with how it looks.

Smokey's been sitting in a field for over a year now, we go start it up regularly and a couple of weeks ago the manager of the park we live in said I could bring it over to clean/wax and do some minor maintenance. As soon as I got it here the radiator started leaking. I took it back to the field, replaced the radiator and hoses and brought it back. So far 6 mouse nests and a smelly cab. No major damage yet, wires/hoses are ok. I've removed the seat and I'm gonna vacuum and shampoo the carpet and seat, take out the glove box/ash tray and see if anything is happening under the dash then put it back together and drive it in Ramona Cruise Nite with my darlin' wife Beth and a POW and American Flag in the bed. Good times!

Chasing nests,,, I think I have them all, now to scrub/sanitize put it all back together and drive for a bit. I do have to reconnect the heater control cable to the flapper but easily done now.
