Got the rear drums rebuilt today with new rear cylinders and hardware. Cracked loose the rear brake lines and now draining fluid so I can replace the rear hose before moving toward the front.

Got her back together and is road worthy. I do have a question though.

Some of the mounting holes on the fiberglass hood are stripped out. A few holes have been cut in the fiberglass to allow and nut to be put on the backside (PITA).

Well 3 more holes stripped out today.

Question is, do you think a nutsert will do the job on those holes? Tomorrow I'm either cutting holes for nuts on the backside or taking it off an putting nutserts in pending what I read here. I've got this new fancy (to me lol) nutsert tool and it'd be nice if it took care of this rigging crap. @bucket @Mr Clean

Thanks In Advance

Had the original carb rebuilt. The guy said this was the first quadrajet he had seen in a few years that was never rebuilt prior and had all the original internal components. Plan to reinstall it later this week.

It should work fine. That being said if the Fiberglass is old and brittle it may crack it. I would put pressure a little at a time to see how the Fiberglass is going to do. Just make sure the nutsert shoulder is going to be enough for it to work properly.

Thanks. Found some screws at work, in the spare bolt bin that were just a little bigger, that held fine. I'll be going through that bin for a few more lol. Zip-loc 'em and put in the "junk drawer" labeled lol.

No enhancements, everything is stock. It is my daily driver so I will keep you posted on how I like it.
Went on a 500 mile trip today to deliver a mini truck. Ran great no issues with the sniper. Happy so far, cold start idle is the only thing to fine tune.

Never posted this a while back. Part of my interior upgrade. Before and after. (Still had the protective film on the new bezel)

I spent some time freshening up the interior on Ol’ Blue. The little lady was complaining about the ‘musty’ smell that was probably coming from 35 year old carpet. New dash cover, seat cover, carpet, Retro sounds full system with 5 new speakers, amp and subwoofer, killmat sound deadening, custom headliner (free) and all new trim pieces. I spent a little money and am very happy with everything except the dash. I should have just spent the money on a new one. I went the cheap route and bought the cover overlay. It’s decent but the old dash foam shows in a few places.

Last night I spent a little time pulling the master cylinder after work, and put on the rear brake hose. Fingers crossed, I hope to have it on the road this week. This thing is coming apart so easily that it scares me sometimes.
