currently draining the transmission after carefully drilling a small hole in the pan!! No more mess!
I have added a drain plug to all my trucks , I would love to get ahold of the bean counter that talked GM out of putting drain plugs from the factory

safety wire? haven't pulled the pan yet
Tough crowd here sometimes. These guys, @Snoots and @Blue Ox must not have read your first post about the drain plug (post # 15,219). I agree with @C10MixMaster no reason in the world why GM didn't put a drain plug in the factory pan. Oh, never mind, save a buck!

Where is a good spot to drill and install a drain plug in a 700R4 and also a temp sender.....2 holes...? Trying NOT to put them in the way of anything.

The transmission shop that put the welded drain plugs in mine put them in the vertical sides (back) of the pans. I had originally put drain kits in the pan bottoms, but not having them sticking down where they can be ripped off on something in the road or a rock or whatever seemed like a better idea.

The temp sender can go into the pressure test port up on the driver's side of the case. Then you only have to worry about one hole as a potential leak point.

Pulled the passenger side caliper, cleaned the pads and rotors, and cleaned and never seized the pins. Did the ds side a month or so ago.

Then, found a Phillips screw with a washer hanging out between the rear bumper and that argent plastic flap.

I had taken her to Lowes earlier today, so no telling if it fell out then and made it down the highway or when I got home and unloaded.

It went in the lowest hole of the rear ac hose cover and has been resinstalled.

:)
