Got a good rust free passenger door today. Gotta test and see if the widow goes up and down. Everything is there except the wing window but, I can put the one from the door on it now in it. Paid 300 for it. $hits getting expensive. I've got new motor for it if it needs one too.

Another tailgate band resto. Hopefully it holds up as I did a few things different.

1st, removed anodized coating using oven cleaner.

2nd, scuffed the center of band with gray ultra fine scotch brite. I went in one direction only. With the grain of the band.

3rd. Polished the outside edge of the band. The part outside of the black pinstriping channel.

4th. Clear coated with 2k clear coat. Applied 2 light coats.

5th. This is the scary part. lol Applied 3/8th inch label making tape. Got it at Office Depot. It’s super sticky but I don’t know how it will do in the heat, cold, and rain. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll remove it and paint some stripes.

6th. Repainted tailgate emblem.

Several years ago, I punched out a tape label and stuck it to the mirror glass of a work truck. The color (green) is starting to fade slightly, but it's holding up great for the most part.

Thank you! Unfortunately I work on weekends. Didn’t even know about it tho. Is that an annual event?

Flushed my brake fluid... definitely not worth taking pictures of, but doing this every few years has kept my original master cylinder, calipers, and wheel cylinders alive.

Still sticking with the hygroscopic glycol based stuff, since my experiments with silicone didn't work too well on other vehicles.

Yeah I know. Bad thing is no junk yards around here have any square parts in them. I called around to several. You have to travel up north a few hundred miles to find non Rusty parts.

It's really weird how the pull your part places have pretty much disappeared from my area. I even called some in Houston with no luck at all. This guy brought it to me. So I didn't even have to go hunt it down. It's more Thani wanted to spend but, my doors are really rusted beyond repair. It is what it is. Lol
