Got the bed ready to come off the 88' so I can swap the bed from my 87' on (it's in better shape). I also removed the hacked up Camper Special wiring. I have no use for it, and it was butchered anyway. I've also been putting together an LSx swap parts list spreadsheet. It's kind of scary looking, lol.

Finished off my 87'...put the bed on my 88' crewcab and scrapped the rest that I wasn't able to sell. I died a little inside. :(

put new tires on the old truck. 31x10.50R15
much better than the old tires. used tires federals on the rear and khumo's on the front but they are the same tread pattern(or extremely close) and are all pretty much new.

Modifying a 250 six engine wiring harness to fit 350. Thought it would take a couple days, but it's been a few hours/day for a week!

Learned a few odd things, like the electric choke wire only has 12 volts on it when the engine is running and the oil pressure switch is closed (good pressure).

And man, there are 12 volt feed and charging wires running everywhere -- alternator to starter, alternator to distribution block, distribution block to bulkhead connector, starter to bulkhead connector, starter to distribution block. And there are 4 fusible links in those wires. Never seen anything like it. They're all 8 gauge and 10 gauge wires, too. I'm used to 50s and 60s systems with 12 gauge max.

I only have a couple crappy cell phone pics at the moment, but the truck has very little left to tell it began life as an 80's fleetside. I changed the tail lights and made some brackets too.

So where's the pics?

Installed my new billet aluminum grill, billet dash knobs. Patiently waiting for my transmission dipstick (flexible s/s braided firewall mount), replacement door lock knobs, and finally replacing my driver side power window switch.

Good and bad news...I discovered a local area shop called "The Chrome Guy" here in Glendale, Az.. This shop has absolutely every replacement c10 part one could ever imagine from oem to chrome, to polished billet goodies and an fittings. Its like having LMC truck down the street from me. No more searching for hours on EBay! The good news is that it's a 15 minute drive for me...the bad news is...my last two visits set me back $523.76 and there's still more parts that I need and want....uugh.

I can finally contribute to this thread again outside of the usual "I got 'er out and drove 'er to work" schtick

so....

1. bought an '87 burb. VERY happy with it and there's a "build" thread started over in the Under Construction section. No real building going on right now but your general maintenance items right now and throwing ideas around of where this thing might be going. Still planning that out.

2. bought some replacement parts for said Burb....power window switch for driver front door, bulb for front turn signal, gas cap to replace the stupid locking gas cap, dome lights (led) and air filter. Still need to buy headlights and a new battery is probably in the very near future. After that I'll start making decisions about which direction to take it. Goal is to keep most of it OEM in appearance but I do want some subtle mods and upgrades so we shall see how this thing evolves. I hope to start getting my kids involved with this one.
