The boy replaced my harmonic balancer a week or so ago.
He tried to time it a couple years ago and we found that the outer ring had slipped.
Then somebody lost the new balancer for quite a while until I found it in his storage unit in a random box.

No wonder it was down on power, it was way to advanced.
Like 40 degrees at idle.
Now it is set at 14 and it has all kinds of power again.

Time to see if the big guy will pass the smog inspection again.
It is only running on tags from 22.
That is how long ago I purchased the balancer....

Do 10B fronts take 10B rear gear sets? Been idly looking for some 4.88's for my K20 and no one seems to cll out specifically the 10B front.

Yes they are the same as a rear gear set, cover and gasket shape is different though than a 10b rear.

Mechanically the internals are all the same.

Theoretically there was such a thing as reverse rotation ring and pinion sets that were cut and lapped to turn the other direction.

However, I'd guess that those disappeared even before they decided that any kind of factory prep could be replaced by the customer doing the break-in.

For the few miles that a part-time front will operate it's unlikely that it will ever make a difference.

I was going to spring for Dakota digital but decide to keep it original, everything works but the housing is all cracked and beat up. So here we go!

I remember when I could keep an operating table that clean and organized. I'm just glad to keep up with the 20 or so kids in the class now and keep them from killing one another with horseplay and tools...

Fear not, there are plenty of other flat surfaces with stuff piled on in the shop. The cart was clear since I recently moved the steel plate for my fab table project off of it.

I feel ya there, my shop was clean when I moved in, now there are paths to go through it with the truck blown apart.

Making the C30 road ready & user friendly. Put on some flaps & got the taillights & bed markers going. Got the interior floor lamp operating & installed a dome light that I've been wanting to use for 20 years...

Went to my buddy’s shop where the truck got towed to. Pulled the effff’d column out. Proceeded to break a few plastic pieces. And ripped the destroyed dash pad off

I take no satisfaction in others' mishaps, but I'm glad to hear other people snap this plastic stuff as much as I do. Lol I can get a bit ham-****** with the fragile stuff, at times.

Edit: It censored the word "fist"? Lol

My engine is out. Building up a 383 to go back in it.

I have a question. Should I dust off a couple year old build thread and continue it, or start a new one? I'm slow :)
