I have 3 sets and one was a mis match so I took the factory emblems off and changed it out to see. Still not completely sold but I like trying things.
White seems to get lost. But i like the fact that its one year only trim so thats partially why i say leave yellow

It's maybe one of the last good mom and pop meat market/grocery stores we have here. Started in 1954. You're darn tootin I have good rapport with the staff there.

This particular guy is a woodworker off duty. Cool guy. It was about 2 years ago, he was ending his shift, I was parking the 81 as he walked out. Cool discussion about old trucks, and an off the cuff offer ensued.
That's awesome Dingo but I feel your pain, locally we only really have one left and because of that it's become so hoity toity it's annoying to shop there in work clothes... Anyway I've become friends with the owner some years back through another friend and can get special cuts of any meat for a cash price with just a text at a days notice, pretty cool, oh and he's a car/truck fanatic also... Mom & Pop is a dying breed, our last locally owned parts store is for sale, great family, just waiting for Parts of Africa to write the big check...

Get a 6’ bed and shorten the frame, I know that it has been done. If memory serves me well I believe the frame might even be pre-drilled?

Wow that would be handy ! I just know they make plate kits to shorten the Squares, perhaps not necessary with a boxed frame but not sure where the boxing ends... I did see a 07 Dmax some years ago that a dude short panst now that's the ultimate truck ! Anyway I was eyeballing a virgin 05 3500 that I would only buy if I could ****** into a short bus...

I'm such a sucker for the gold trim, you hardly ever see it so I vote to keep it

Installed frame reinforcement plates where steering gear mounts. There was one crack near a bolt hole, so drilled stop holes, ground it, welded it, then ground it flat.

Not a bad job, but more difficult than I anticipated. Not including disassembly, the repair and plate installation took almost 5 hours. A few hours of assembly and we’ll be back on the road.

The wife helped me today with installing the steering gear following the reinforcement plate repair. These steering gears must be made from depleted uranium as they are HEAVY, too heavy for me to manhandle with one hand while trying to start bolts with the other. But together we knocked it out! I’m very lucky to have a spouse that knows her way around tools and is a great help.

I had the same experience in Arizona. HVAC supply shop was 150yards down the road from my house. Had the AC fail to turn on in the middle of summer. Went up on the roof and troubleshot it with my multimeter and found the fan start capacitor was toast in about 3 minutes. Pulled it off and walked over to the supply place and had to argue with the guy for 15 minutes before he would sell me the $10 part that was right there on his shelf. He didn't want to sell me anything because I didn't have a license, but I told him I'm fixing my own AC and don't need a license to work on my own house. He finally relented when I told him I live right across the street and you can watch me put it in if it makes him feel better.
Yes, there are people that ignorant/stupid.

In the past, I had to call up the local codes (Revised Code of Washington [RCW'S]) that, specifically, state we have the right to do our own work and do not have to seek permission from our agents to do our own electrical work, HVAC work, plumbing repairs. . . . and provide it to the business.

Here, putting that $40.00 switching unit on would cost me around $200.00 in labor, or I could buy the part, photo the color coded connections, kill ALL the power (even with the external circuit opened, the unit would still get 24VDC from the handler, so it's just smart to kill the house breakers, the HVAC breakers, AND check for voltage before the swap.

That the code had to state, in plain terms, we had rights, says how ignorant much of the public is, including so called experts.
