Finally got some time this week to work on my 85 C10 Silverado, with a 6.2 diesel, and 700R4.

Pressure washed underneath and got all the mud and oil cleaned off, and changed the transmission filter and the leaky pan gasket yesterday. Hopefully, it doesn't leak anymore if it sits for a couple weeks.

Then today I changed out the passenger side fuel tank.

Doing rust repair the...easy...way. My old PA K10 is a rusty hag for certain & me & SIL just scored this local C10 as a donor.
I really hate cutting up good trucks but this one was advertised as "no title" so I figured I'd use it instead of letting it meet the crusher (possibly).
We're using all the C10 body panels & will have little rust repair to do. The trans tunnel was the worst part until removing the stubborn & rust welded cab bolts from the K10 Let the work ensue!

Nothing major today, but checked off a few smaller things.

Filled up the new tank, treated the fuel, and thankfully, the sending unit is working as it should. Should've put in a new one, but forgot to order one. Also changed the tank selector switch in the dash.

Next, diagnosed a bad blower motor, and changed that. So, now I have heat. Need to go through threads on here and figure out why my defrost doesn't work, but at least I have heat. I'll mess with that tomorrow.

Then, I changed the driver's side window motor. Man, what a difference. I don't think I've ever had a new window motor in any of my squares. I'll do the passenger side tomorrow. Just changed the window regulator (manual windows) in my 80 a couple months ago. Windows are working so good, I don't know what to do with myself.

Just a beautiful mid to upper 60's day spent in the garage with doors open, watching Vice Grip Garage while dinking around.

I drove to a cruise in this afternoon at Midway. Saw some good looking rides there I haven't seen before

After a drive to town to pick up some horse and dog food, I replaced the vent window handles on the Blazer with a new set from Santa.

That square yours?

I like em all but that’s by far my favorite. Guess I’m officially dyed in the fabric square guy now.

I replaced the EGR valve. It didn't hurt putting on a new one.

After all electronic plugs that I moved for room to remove the valve were replaced I fired it up and took it on a test drive.

The drive was positive. Uphill, downhill, slow, or fast no stumbles, except for one on a 10 minute trip. Top speed was about 50-55 mph. The one stumble was when I gave it some gas going from 45-50. The recent roughness was occurring typically between 25 -30 mph. Also it was cutting out often when after running rough, slowing down, then trying to start from stop or after shifting from drive to reverse.
These all are potentially symptoms from the EGR having gone bad. Also these are symptoms of other parts malfunctioning, like the fuel pump, as one culprit.

Still investigating but enjoying an improvement for now.

Yep! Keepin my eyes peeled for some decent front fenders but other than that I'm kind of out of things to do other than drive it lol.
There was probably 75 or so cars there but a lot were just stock. They're nice but I'm more into the modified/driver/patina stuff myself.

Got the second window motor installed, and then the window switch crapped out, so I took one out of my spare set of doors. Good to go now. I also had to re-bleed the brakes.

Then my favorite part of owning square body's............I went for a drive.
