If it works and you don't hate it then leave it. I used to want to replace and "fix" every single thing, but as long as it's not broken and fulfills my visual standard then there's no point in wasting time or money on it.

If you're already there and have the other line, just keep going with it. I'm ditching that line on my k30 build, but mostly because it's a ground up build.

If I had a truck that was easily running and driving I would just leave the factory line.

Oh man, I'm with that sentiment. I just want to get it into the actually runs, stops on the road in traffic, and lives to tell about it.

See, one thing about Pearl not readily apparent is that she was a rescue of sorts. I got it because the body didnt have a butt ton of rust (CA rig), big block camper special at just under 70k miles and mostly original (except where some tan interior parts swapped for gray) beyond their "work". With the title issues originally and considering the neighborhood where I found her, plus add in all the butchered systems in an attempt to get it going again by those "mechanics", I figured (cuz I didn't know better until y'all schooled me) that pipe was something those tweaker idiots had tried to get fuel delivery. The original pipe had been decommissioned by someone prior, so I really didn't know what was going on. Now, I have the half ton variety up in the frame rail but not completely fastened in, and I am leaning towards continuing on with it and removing the ¾ ton line for now. After another look below, I am going with removing it because the cab bushings are flattening out and the cab seems to be pinching it. More deets when I get back under sometime this weekend. Probably while I am in there dropping tanks to see what fresh hell awaits.

It's a '78 3/4 Chevy underneath, chassis and drive train... but the M37 from my avatar is slowly replacing the rusted out Chevy body. Not sure how you guys might think about that. But I had to choose something to wed to the M37 and I like GM trucks.

So I've been procrastinating for way too long getting it together. But for the last few weeks I've been working on it and the time I spent procrastinating has been fruitful. I helped me work out some problems that I didn't have solutions for a while back.

Today I got the rear cab mounts from the frame to the body figured out and tack welded. I used to weld quite a bit but I think something this important is going to a professional.

Finished up the fuel filler today. Guess I'll see sometime next week how it works. The vent runs to up above the taillight.

Still messing with the stupid alternator. Hey do they make caps for your ac lines? I'm thinking of removing the ac compressor and want to seal them off.

Did alot of moving around and cleaning/organizing of trucks and garage equipment today. Had alot of them out in the yard for a moment, still missing the other 3 on the property though haha

@Ricko1966 was right. After I cleaned up the bloodbath and let the thread sealant dry, I noticed a weep from the choke pressure switch. New part installed, and a quick cruise before it’s parked for the oncoming rain tomorrow. I leave in a couple days for mountain biking in Moab, UT.

This is my truck a few years ago when it was being sold by Garage Kept Motors. Top was black from the factory (Z59). Don’t know about that faux woodgrain stuff but it was removed and those areas painted white. Originally it was a solid color (ZY1) in Santa Fe Tan (60L)
